Learn how to use the ScreenTest tool to detect and optimize your monitor

Quick Start

ScreenTest is a professional screen testing tool that can help you detect various monitor issues, including dead pixels, bright spots, color accuracy, etc. Here are the basic steps to use this tool:

1. Choose Test Type

Choose the test type you need on the homepage: black screen test, white screen test, color screen test, or other professional test options.

2. Adjust Settings (Optional)

Adjust parameters such as resolution and brightness as needed. For a more accurate test, it is recommended to use the default settings or adjust according to your monitor specifications.

3. Enter Full Screen Mode

Click the "Full Screen" button or use the F11 key to enter full screen mode for the best testing effect. In full screen mode, you can more easily discover monitor issues.

4. Check the Screen

Observe the screen carefully to look for possible defects:

  • Black screen test: Look for bright spots (pixels that cannot display black)
  • White screen test: Look for dark spots (pixels that cannot display white)
  • Color test: Check color uniformity and accuracy

Black Screen Test

The black screen test is the best way to detect bright spots on a monitor. Bright spots are pixels that should display black but actually emit light.

How to use:

  1. Select the "Black Screen Test" option on the homepage
  2. Enter full screen mode
  3. Carefully observe the screen in a dark room environment
  4. Any bright spots will be clearly visible against the pure black background

White Screen Test

The white screen test is used to detect dark spots and color uniformity issues on a monitor.

How to use:

  1. Select the "White Screen Test" option on the homepage
  2. Enter full screen mode
  3. Check the screen for any dark spots or areas of uneven color
  4. Observe the edges of the screen for any light leakage

Color Screen Test

Color testing can help you check the color accuracy and uniformity of your monitor.

How to use:

  1. Select the "Color Screen Test" option on the homepage
  2. Select the color to test from the color picker
  3. Enter full screen mode
  4. Check if the color is displayed evenly across the entire screen

Custom Resolution

This feature allows you to test the screen performance at a specific resolution.

How to use:

  1. Enter the desired width and height in the settings area
  2. Click the "Apply" button
  3. The test area will be adjusted to the specified resolution

Advanced Tips

Optimal Testing Environment

To obtain the most accurate test results, it is recommended to test in a dark environment and adjust the monitor brightness to a normal usage level.

Regular Testing

It is recommended to conduct a monitor test every 3-6 months to discover potential issues in a timely manner. Newly purchased monitors should be fully tested within the return/exchange period.

Multi-angle Observation

Observing the screen from different angles can make it easier to spot certain types of screen defects, especially for monitors with VA and TN panels.
